Yesterday I blogged about making a tofu and seitan turkey. I am sure you are all eager to find out how it came out. I sit here proudly knowing that it passed the test!

Vincent:*****
Vincent didn't get to try any until he got home around 10:30, so it wasn't really hot anymore. Needless to say I wowed him! That doesn't happen often around here as he is more of the cook, and makes the wow dishes. It didn't take the full 3 1/2 hours to cook like I thought it would, and I had to take it out cause I was out of the basting sauce and I didn't want it to get dried out. I thought for sure I had ruined it because I had mistakenly ate the end piece which was kinda tough and not so good.
Vincent couldn't stop telling me just how awesome my "turkey" was and how it was far better than tofurkey that you buy in the store. This did start to annoy me so I told him to please just shut up about it, I didn't want to get a big head.
I now know that cooking with seitan isn't as scary as I thought it would be. It was as simple as 1...2..3.
How I made a turkey!
Step 1: Get everything together (dry ingredients and wet)
Step 2: Throw into bread machine on dough setting to mix, otherwise it's really hard to work with
Step 3: Take out of bread machine, shape into whatever baste and cook in oven
And finally: EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
Here is my turkey before cooking
And here is the after picture
