DIY Furniture

I have found a new love for homemade furniture, especially pallet furniture. Here I will be sharing our wonderful creations that we make. Each will include materials used, cost and time spent making each item.

So my first attempt with pallet furniture was a raised pallet garden box. Gotta say it turned out pretty nice and was very easy to do.

Instructables.com has a nice instruction manual on how to make it..

Here is how I did mine.
First I found an old pallet. What was nice was the fact
that I wanted to make small boxes and the wood was already
cut into 12" pieces
Next you disassemble the pallet. Try and take out as many nails as possible.
If you can't get them out you can just hammer them down. Taking it apart took me about 10-15 minutes

Next take your pieces and put them together. Make sure to line them up as evenly as possible.
You can either use screws or nails. For me I thought it was far easier to use
a drill and screw them in. On each side I used 3 screws.

It took me a total of 30 minutes to get it completed. From breaking down the pallet to
screwing everything together
Once you are done you can leave it the way it is, stain it, or paint it. Then place where you would
like it and fill it with your potting soil / dirt and you are ready to go.

In the end total cost was less then $2.00
