A mini vacation...... Monday and Tuesday

Even when times are tough everyone needs a break. Well thanks to Vincent working so much over the Christmas holiday he had a lot of Paid Time Off available, saved up. He was going to save this and use it when the baby was born, but the company put out a notice that any pto from last year needed to be used by the end of March or you would lose it. Vincent had a little under 40 hours of pto available and it needed to be used, why let it go to waste. We talked to another couple about possibly taking a small and cheap road trip somewhere, the question then became...where? Then they remembered that they had a free 2 night stay at a resort at Bryce Canyon, UT which needed to be used by the end of March as well. So the wheels starting turning at this point and a trip was in motion!

On Monday we headed out of Logan, stopping by Ikea for a quick lunch. From there we headed to Bryce Canyon. It was a long but beautiful drive down HWY 89. When we got to Bryce we checked into the room and hit the pool and crashed that night. It was nice to be out of the car and I think we were all a bit tired.

The next day we headed out into the canyon, we stop at the Visitor Center where Vincent and I got our new NP Passport(his last one had over 60+ stamps) and our first stamp in the book. And then we were asked if we would like to go on a free snowshoe hike. I had never been snowshoeing before so this would be interesting. We signed up and was told to meet at a certain point at 2pm. This gave us some time to go to the over looks and actually see Bryce Canyon. I must say it was amazing and I would recommend that if you ever get a chance to go to Bryce Canyon that you go. So after viewing the canyon we headed the the meeting area for the snowshoe hike. I was kinda nervous because it was my first time and I have never really hiked in the snow before, plus it was a little over a mile hike. I really surprised myself at how well I did, and I didn't even get out of breath or tired. Thanks to the hike we got to see some amazing views that we wouldn't have been able to see because the roads were closed for the winter. After all that we went into the wonderful town of Tropic to see what they had to offer food wise, not much. So we went back to the hotel and the other couple went to the restaurant and Vincent and I ate some of the food we had packed, however we did go down to the restaurant for a little extra snack to give the couple some time alone. And that ended our second day on the trip and here are some pictures for you to see.
