Job hunt to finally employed

Job Hunting:
In today’s world finding a job is hard, mainly because everyone is competing for the same jobs. You have people that normally wouldn’t be working having to get jobs just to support themselves. It’s really sad when you think about it, I mean you look forward to your retirement only to find out you can’t.

Since moving to Cincinnati I have to find a job. I originally had a job lined up in SLC, but then moved. As much as I would love to work in childcare that just really isn’t an option because I am only going to be here temporarily. I have my hopes set on a job that is hiring for the holiday season, which would be perfect. Guess it’s time to dust off the resume and cover letters and get to job hunting.

Finally Employed:
The one big thing, the one big push for me was when I got back to Cincinnati I needed to get a job. I needed a job so I can have money for diapers and what not, but also to help Vincent back home with rent and other bills. In this economy it’s hard to find a job, even harder if you don’t have a car to get around (I really don’t like the Cincinnati bus system as you can get lost real easily). So when I couldn’t go out looking for a job I would look on craigslist. Now naturally I would have wanted a job in childcare, but since I will only be here for such a short time it would be too much of a hassle. Instead I was looking for call center work, reason being is they have a high turnover rate. Well, on Wednesday (i believe) I received a call from a woman who had gotten my reply about a job. Based on my resume and past call center experience she wanted me to come in for an interview. It was a same day interview and she seemed really excited to meet me. When I first got to the place, because I had failed to catch the name, I was a bit worrisome. I had also gotten there a 1/2 earlier then what I had planned. It seemed to be a rundown warehouse and the first thing that came to mind was this was a scam and I was about to be jumped. When time for my interview came around I called the woman back and she met me out front. I took a tour of the building, the warehouse. There isn’t much to it, but it is a major online company. After the walk through I was told that I would be the only customer service person, that I would be handing the on-line chat as well the the e-mails. That is all well and good…wait did you say the only one?? Okay so maybe I get my own office, but I am the only person to handle the customer service! Yeah me, I expect it to be stressful but luckily it is only for about 8 weeks. Of course they don’t know that yet as I told them I can do it and don’t plan on leaving, oh well. Of course I guess a lot will also depend on how Vincent’s trial goes. Either way I am employed full time, this will be both a change for me and my children. Yup, I know it’s gonna be hard on Kyle because he has become rather clingy lately.
