So here is what is going on with the baby at 38 weeks...
How your baby's growing:
Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold him hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)
So here is how I am feeling right now...
Braxton Hicks, oh my goodness. I am not a big fan of false contractions even though I know they are there to help get my body ready for the big day.
I am having some back ache, and it makes it harder for me to sleep at night.
I am not sure if I have effaced or dilated anymore, I won't find out until Monday (I'm hoping).
I am tired all the time, no matter how much sleep I get at night. Come middle of the day I want a nap.
Kyle is moving around a lot, and his movements sometimes hurt. I know he is low cause he likes to play with my girly parts sometimes.
I have been trying so hard to put on weight, it goes up and down, up and down. I do know that Kyle is somewhere between 5-6lbs, so here's hoping that he has put on some more weight.
I pretty much have everything I need. I am sure that I will need more clothes, but I am also waiting to see how big he is.
The only major thing I need is a breast pump, so this would allow others to feed Kyle.
I am trying not to waddle around, but sometimes I see it happening.
What is going on with our life....
Vincent is done working overtime, and is now on his regular schedule of 7-3pm. This means that he will be home around 3:45.
My boss has finally hired someone to kinda replace me. My hours have been cut back to about 4 1/2 hours a day. This also means that after I get up with Vincent and help him out the door (trust me he needs it) I can crawl back into bed and sleep some more.
The garden is coming along, today I planted some more tomatoes, squash, eggplant, broccoli, spinach, radishes, and beets. Later in the week I plan on planting flowers in one section of the garden to attract some pretty birds / butterflies. So as of now my garden consist of: peppers (red / green & jalapeƱo) Tomatoes, chives, mint. I will also be planting some basil in the next few days.
I am kinda tired and it's getting late, so I am gonna get off here. I will update everyone on my pregnancy come Monday.
